Hi Stephanie. I so love this question. I really do. I worked and lived in Hawaii for six years and I must say that I was enamored by the place. To answer your question. Driving laws in Hawaii do not differ much from those in the mainland. The only difference, and I found it very interesting, is that they don’t have the liabilities that are usual in most states because it is a no-fault state. There in Hawaii, your car insurance provider pays for the body injury damages incurred in the accident and it doesn’t matter who the party at fault is. However, for property and car damages, the insurance company of the person at fault will be the one to pay. They have different other coverages to choose from, depending on what you think you will need. There’s Comprehensive, Collision, Uninsured Motorist.
